Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a critical role in preparing individuals with the practical skills, competencies, and attitudes required for work and productivity. In many African contexts, where employment pathways are closely tied to skills acquisition, TVET pedagogy must go beyond traditional teaching to embrace hands-on learning, industry alignment, and learner-centered approaches.
This free one-week course, Introduction to TVET Pedagogy, is designed to provide educators, trainers, and practitioners with a foundational understanding of how vocational skills are effectively taught and assessed. It emphasizes the shift from knowledge transmission to competence development, ensuring that learners are not only informed but capable of performing tasks in real-world settings.
The course is structured into three interconnected units, each addressing a critical dimension of effective TVET practice.
